Liability Claims Manager , you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality claim handling for all liability claims, coaching team members on technical claims excellence, and partnering with key stakeholders. We are looking for a service-oriented professional who brings a strong background in the insurance industry and possesses effective leadership skills to inspire and manage a dedicated team.How You’ll Make an ImpactProactively perpetuate the culture, embrace our core values, and welcome diverse perspectives to foster innovation.Manage workflow and resources appropriately, including staffing, workloads, and performance management.Communicate strategy, priorities, and expectations to ensure team alignment with the claims mission.Execute on strategy for claims mission of Hospitality, Outcomes, and Efficiency at team and individual levels.Develop and train team on claim handling excellence.Maintain excellent rapport with the team, internal stakeholders, and agency force.Collaborate with peers and Claims leadership on strategy and continuous improvement efforts.Monitor claims reserves and payments.Review files for coaching and direction on technical excellence in claims.Ensure the team is managing assigned volume of liability claims efficiently.Lead team to develop and follow strategic action plans throughout the life of the file.Ensure proactive customer service by setting expectations and responding to requests timely.Instruct team to conduct thorough and timely claim investigations.Lead team to implement proper recognition, investigation, referral, and communication regarding subrogation.Ensure accurate initial reserves are set in a timely manner.Manage files through swift resolution of exposures that warrant settlement.Detect and mitigate fraud when investigating claims.Implement appropriate consideration of file expenses and approved suppliers.Manage paid losses appropriately; ensure fair payments and optimal settlement timing.Monitor and collaborate with defense counsel on litigation strategy.Lead team development with subject matter expertise training and onboarding.Complete performance appraisals and participate in salary recommendations.Assist in the selection of new employees.Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.Evaluate team performance and hold team accountable for results.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree and 6 years of claims experience, or 8 years of claims experience.Travel required as needed.Ability to train, develop, motivate, and evaluate employees.Strong leadership skills and effective decision-making ability.Ability to lead by example through coaching and integrity.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Skilled in change management.Possess a positive, professional service attitude.Manage and understand external vendor resources.Ability to lead through complex coverage analysis and resolution strategies.Proficient in Microsoft Suite.Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.Innovative and continuous improvement mindset.Ability to work under pressure and handle a heavy workload.Ability to interact professionally with customers.Understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes.Ensure compliance with state regulatory/statutory requirements.Preferred QualificationsCPCU, SCLA, or AIC designations.Prior managerial experience in a claims setting.Demonstrated leadership capabilities.Work AuthorizationCentral will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.
