San Diego Youth Services has helped improve the lives of more than 780,000 homeless, runaway and vulnerable youth since its beginning in 1970. We provide safe places to live and long-term solutions through shelter, foster homes, community centers and housing to more than 28,000 youth every year at 100+ community and school locations.SDYS has a staff of approximately 250 employees and 80 volunteers working across San Diego County and an annual budget of approximately $24 million.DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION OR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION HIRING FORI CARE supports youth, up to age 21, who are at risk for or have experienced sex trafficking or other commercial sexual exploitation. The program provides a mental health clinic and a drop-in center.CONTEXT OF THE POSITION
Accountable to Program Managers for administrative, personnel and program functions.Essential functions include:
Program Financials
Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with the program budget, purchasing, inventory, management, and documentation of facility spending.Monitor expenses and submit appropriate expenditure forms to the Program Manager.Update appropriate fiscal year Live GL with weekly check requests for designated categories; review monthly GL including operating expenses.Provide timely and necessary reports and statistics to funding sources.
Program Administration
Ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of all components of the program are being coordinated.Ensure quality control of data collection and services.Identify and delegate component activities as reflected in goals & objectives of contract.Provide general administrative support.Maintain day-to-day cleanliness, order of the physical facility & grounds and meeting health and safety standards.Work in collaboration with other internal and external components.Monitor and report any necessary facility, I.T. or equipment repairs.Ensure program has food, snacks, office and therapeutic supplies.Create and keep up to date policy and procedures manuals and onboarding & training handbooks for staff, volunteers and interns.Provide program coverage when needed.
Clinic Administration
Support clinic administrative staff to develop and update as necessary medical records management databases in EHR and Excel applications.Support clinic administrative staff in determining service-partners health coverage and program eligibility.Process requests for release of medical, personal or other information pertaining to clients or patients.
Personnel
Onboard, coordinate and supervise volunteers.Ensure adequate program coverage during hours of operation.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with two years equivalent experience required, master’s degree preferred.Professional written and verbal communication skills.Bookkeeping, record keeping, data collection and contract compliance abilities.Experience working with social services and youth programming preferred.Bilingual preferred, though not required.Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Outlook.Must be able to pass clearance for working with minors.Able to remain personable and organized even in stressed or busy circumstances.Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record.Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.Salary Range
