Coordinate and integrate test conduct with Outfitting Production work and deal effectively with Regulatory Bodies and Customer representatives.Reports directly to Senior Test & Trials Engineer or Manager Test & Trials, supervises various trades as required. Deal with Customer, Regulatory Bodies, and Quality Assurance representatives, other Test Supervisors, various disciplines, crafts personnel, various NASSCO Organizations, suppliers and subcontractors.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIESTest Procedure preparation, conduct and reporting.Test CoordinationTest Planning and pre-test InstructionsLMS ReportingSupervise, work with and train test crew personnelHands on operation of systems and equipmentFill in as Working Test SupervisorCoordinate test conduct between Production, Test, QA, Customer, and Regulatory BodiesPerform other tasks as required or assigned by the Test ManagerManage and progress work being accomplished by subcontractors/repair facility.Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSAssociate degree in Marine Field (or equivalent training) and a minimum of 3 years’ experience Operating Shipboard Machinery.Proven experience in Marine Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Centralized Controls System Operations, Deck Machinery, Cargo Handling Systems, Ballast Systems, Personnel Management, Quality Assurance, Planning and be familiar with Shipboard Operations.Have demonstrated experience in dealing with the Navy in the Ship Acceptance Test Program as well as familiarity with ABS and Coast Guard requirements.Ability to interpret Building Specifications and Regulatory Rules to be able to prepare written Test Procedures for Shipboard Testing.Ability to utilize computer based Word Processing Software to create Test Documentation.PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to climb on and around ships, including stairs, ladders, masts, and scaffolding. Must be able to work around moving machinery, at heights and in confining or restricted spaces aboard vessels under construction/repair. Must be able to handle stressful situations. Must be able to operate High Reach equipment, Sky Climbers and Dock arms. Physical dexterity must allow for bending and reaching. Requires extended periods of standing and walking (8 hr/day). Specific vision ability required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds. Must have good eye/hand coordination. Must be physically able to commute to various areas in shipyard. Endures noise levels from moderate to extremely noisy (75%).ACCOUNTABILITYResponsible to the Test Manager for the timely and accurate conduct of assigned tasks and for the timely notification of impending problems.PAYSCALE:$85,500- $123,700This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
