About the role
Under limited supervision, the Standards & Certifications Engineer works with third-party certifiers in obtaining safety certifications for Leviton products and works with the design groups to ensure compliance to all voluntary and regulatory standards are met.
Responsibilities
Handles assigned agency certification projectsDevelops a series of alternate solutions to business problems and recommends the most appropriate method of implementationCompiles information and data necessary for reporting to managementResponsible for planning, monitoring and reporting to management on procedures and processesCoordinates corporate responses to regulatory proposalsInterfaces with various engineering organizations in the interpretation of standards and test requirements for new and existing productsEnsures interpretation of policies across departmental linesAny activities that the head of the Department deems necessaryResponsible for the maintenance of electronic databases to improve department efficiency as well as being utilized as a method for disseminating information corporate-wideDownloads and monitors all incoming standards and bulletinsElectronically stores and routes all relevant documents to affected departments, F.B.U's, subsidiaries and manufacturing sites
Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of third party standards, UL, CSA and IEC are requiredStrong computer skills are a must
Education & Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical or PhysicsAn AAS degree or technical certificate with 5 years in Product Compliance is also suitable provided candidate continues schooling for a Bachelor’s Degree3 years in the Product Safety Compliance field is preferred
Travel
Up to 10% travel to various third-party certification labs located within North America, as well as Leviton facilities, is expected

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
