The Assistant Director of New Student Experiences leads and manages initiatives which welcome, transition, and effectively support new students attending Texas State University, notably New Student Orientation and Bobcat Welcome Week. The Assistant Director will be responsible for aspects of vision, program and service delivery, quality control, risk management, constituent engagement, resource development, and fiscal management which align with and contribute to division and university vision, mission, and goals for enrollment and student success.Job Duties:PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (50%):Develops and hosts an educational and engaging experience for 9,000 new students through New Student Orientation and Bobcat Welcome Week programming.Directs the student registration process for New Student Orientation, including messaging, payment, student support, troubleshooting, and student registration holds in coordination with Enrollment Management.Assists with the development and implementation of all department-wide programs including Family Weekend and other new orientation, transition and retention initiatives.CONSTITUENT ENGAGEMENT (20%):Liaises with members of the New Student Orientation Advisory Committee and campus partners to provide daily management and logistical support for New Student Orientation.Guides Bobcat Welcome Week Advisory Committee of internal stakeholders to host an engaging week-long program of activities.Supervises two Coordinators and one Administrative Assistant and indirectly supervises a team of 30+ student staff members.RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (15%):Develops online modules to facilitate a successful transition to the university.Manages all communications to/from incoming new students through customer relationship management software, websites, and digital and print publications in coordination with Enrollment Management.FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (10%):Executes financial decisions in alignment with university, division, and departmental protocols.OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED (5%):Coordinates special projects or other duties as directed by Director of New Student and Family Experiences or their designee.Additional Information to Applicants:Job Open Date:
