We are looking for you to join our team as a Planning Specialist based out of Linthicum, MD. This role can be hybrid or fully remote if you are located in Maryland

What you’ll get to do

The Category Management Planning Specialist will be supporting multiple programs with the RF Distribution and PWB Category Suppliers across the Mission Systems Sector by aligning program needs and Sector Strategies.

Negotiates, manages, and foster strong relationships with suppliers

Defines and develops material strategy to align it to Sector and Program needs

Implements metrics to ensure that Sector goals are realized, and performance requirements are achieved

Aligns suppliers to the Supplier Performance Management Plan

Works with cross-functional teams to analyze supply base risks & opportunities by supporting program needs

Responsible for the assessment of supplier capacity resources

Aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements

Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements

Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools

Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements

Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.

Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs

Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements

Basic Job Qualifications for Supply Chain Planning Specialist:

Bachelor’s (2+ yrs experience) or Master’s (1+ yrs experience) from an accredited institution

Experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Management, Operations, and/or related experience

Experience with team collaboration

Experience resolving problems with peers or customers

Experience in the manufacturing or program environment

Ability to bring matters/issues to successful closure

Ability to regularly present information to senior level leadership

Ability to travel 25% of the time

Proficiency in MS Office suite

U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications for Supply Chain Planning Specialist:

ASCM/APICS Supply Chain Certification

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Six Sigma or Lean certifications

PMP trained or certified

Possesses current DOD Secret Clearance

Provide examples that show efficiency working independently and in a team environment

Business acumen and experience making business-based decisions

Salary Range: $65,500 - $103,200

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
