This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2-3 days a week in the office.As a Sr Compensation Analyst (Hybrid), you will be responsible for administering and communicating compensation programs, policies, and processes. Complete market analysis to evaluate roles and compensation programs. Collaborate and act as internal consultant to the HR Business Partners and Business Unit Managers on compensation related issues. Contribute to the development of compensation programs, policies, and processes.RESPONSIBILITIES
Compensation Administration
Develop and write accurate job descriptions, aligned with best practices.Market price roles and align to an internal structure based on external survey data and other related resources.Build base salary compensation recommendations.Participate in annual compensation surveys.Administer and execute annual merit and incentive process.Create data analysis based on current compensation structure and data and prepare legally required analysis.Collaborate in developing and implementing compensation program communications materials, employee statements, policies, etc.As assigned, participate in the development or review of sales compensation plans and/or supporting executive and board compensation reporting.Follow federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations and assist with ensuring organizational wide compliance.Internal Collaboration
Collaborate with HR Business Partner and/or Business Unit leaders on compensation related issues and job descriptions.Partner across HR with Business Partners, Talent, and/or with Business Unit leaders to assess market conditions in support of creating competitive job offers.Process Improvement
Identify, document and improve/enhance core compensation tools, guidelines, and processes to reduce administrative work.May include other responsibilities as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Finance related area - Required.Five+ years of related work experience in human resources or finance. Demonstrated experience in working with sensitive information and maintaining confidential information.Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.Strong customer service and collaborative orientation.Demonstrated critical thinking skills, attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in final work products such as compensation analysis, employee data, budget reconciliation, etc.Experience in working with an HRIS or financial system. Demonstrated competence in maintaining and creating tables and reports in a relational database.Need to possess a high level of competence in spreadsheet, database and word processing applications. In particular, experience with Microsoft Office suite of products required.Proven ability to learn new software applications and train others in their use.Proven ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines critical for success.Must be able to troubleshoot and identify potential solutions and quality improvements.Ability to work extended hours in order to meet commitments and deadlines and open to travel if needed.The American Medical Association is located at 330 N.
