Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC)$160,000 - $165,000 / YearHybrid ScheduleHow you will make a difference in this role:As the Supreme Court Human Resources Director (SC HR Director), you will serve as a member of the AOC Executive Leadership Team. You will be responsible for spearheading strategic initiatives that oversee all aspects of HR practices and processes while fostering a culture of success. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the overall business strategy through consulting State court leadership on all HR-related issues, ensuring strategic talent management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The SC HR Director will also work closely with the Executive Branch’s Department of Human Resources, Department of Benefits Administration, as well as other State agencies to help ensure the court system remains competitive in the talent market.Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as a trusted HR advisor, supporting the AOC and State court system’s strategic goals, fostering a high-performance culture, and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive matters.Oversee talent acquisition and retention programs to attract top talent. Lead HR initiatives and performance management, coach leadership to improve skills, and foster employee engagement and productivity.Cultivate a positive workplace culture by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts. Consult with supervisors on effective management strategies and HR policies, including employee relations, performance management, hiring, and benefits. Support onboarding, off-boarding, and employee separations for State judges and court system staff.Regularly design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with State standards and court system goals. Provide consultation, coordination, and education about retirement.In consultation with the AOC Legal Services and Judicial Development Division, ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws and regulations.Develop, promote, and oversee training that enhances employee skills and career development.Monitor and analyze HR data to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and assist court leadership in making data-driven decisions.Work with AOC Fiscal Division to manage the overall State court system HR budget and ensure cost-effective operations. Reconcile accounting and HR management systems in cooperation with the Fiscal Division.Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Preferred but not required:Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Current professional HR certification preferred (e.g. SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
