Job Details:The assistant director of Tift College of Education graduate admissions is a professional responsible for managing and coordinating the graduate admissions process within the college. The primary role is to support the director of graduate admissions in implementing strategies to attract and enroll qualified candidates for graduate programs.

Responsibilities:Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Graduate Admissions and Student Success, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for meeting or exceeding the new student headcount and revenue goals. The incumbent will articulate the mission and values of the university to prospective graduate students, partner school districts, faculty and outside constituents such as associations, districts, and regional educational service agencies. Moreover, the Assistant Director represents the University at numerous events such as college fairs, school district visits, alumni receptions, international events, and on-campus events. In addition, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for the management of the entire recruitment process for enterprise learning partnerships—from creation of strategic plans to the execution of them. Lastly, the incumbent will also oversee student workers, mentor teammates on information sessions/webinar process and procedures, and analyze report data with the Director to explore ways to promote enrollment management success.

Success Factors:Personable, outgoing, self-starter, confident, articulate, good oral and written communications skills, team player, willingness to go beyond what is required to meet goals. Excellent grammar, proofreading, and writing skills; an understanding of traditional and nontraditional education; experience in marketing and advertising development and strategies; and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and follow through on tasks to completion. Critical thinking and evaluation skills are required, as is an advanced level of proficiency with appropriate technologies.

Qualifications:A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and one year of prior admissions experience are required. Candidates with a master's degree are highly desirable. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Sound knowledge and experience of postsecondary recruitment, admissions and financial aid

Understanding the specific needs of working adult students

Database enrollment management techniques

Planning, organizing, management skills, processing, and technology

Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking)

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for letters, mailings etc.
