PCSI is looking for a Material Expediter at its Detroit Arsenal Site. We seek a motivated, friendly team member to engage vendors and execute purchases to support our in-house facility maintenance team. The right person will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask. This position will report to the Supply Manager at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI. We operate under AbilityOne-a federal initiative for employing people with disabilities-and serving people of all abilities in their career development journey is at the heart of what we do.Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.What You'll Do as a Material Expediter:Utilizes documents and spreadsheets, to determine materials requirements or priorities such as:Purchase requestsVendor quotesPurchase Order LogSite Scheduling MatrixInvoices Tracking and PaymentWork OrdersInventory ReportsWork with vendors to prepare cost estimates through email, phone calls, and online researchOrders material, inventory stock, equipment, tools, schedule/track rentals, and other general items; also filling orders or issues supplies from stockInspection of received materials for accuracy and condition assessment.Administrative and organizational responsibilities include:Sortly (property management software):Materials Inventory (FIFO)Property Inventory (Tools & Equipment)Product or Material informationReports on usage history, inventory transactions, spoilage, or damage to stock Records:Purchasing packetsInventory transactionsHazmat label requestsPerforms inventory cycle counts, and report findings to Supply ManagerAnswer incoming calls, schedule pickups, deliveries, or distribution of supplies, and provide status information to expedite the flow of materials and meet production schedulesLocates and distributes materials to specified production areas, and technicians manually or using a handcart, hand truck, or forkliftFollows procedures for maintaining high standards of quality and reliability of the company inventory systemAbility to operate a vehicle onsite and offsite to pick up materials and deliver to various locations.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Prior experience in supply and logistics preferred.Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAttention to detail and strong organizational skills.Above average written and oral communication skills.Working ConditionAbility to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.The ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation.Other DutiesPlease note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
