PCSI is looking for a Grounds Laborer at its Detroit Arsenal Site! We are searching for a motivated, friendly team member to perform groundskeeper and maintenance duties.The right person will have a proactive attitude and take pride in their accomplishments. This position will report to the Grounds Supervisor and is based at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI.

Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday, some Saturdays (alternate schedule) - flexible schedule with snow

Rate of pay: $24.16 per hour, plus $5.95 for health and welfare, (union position)

What You'll Do as a Grounds Laborer:

Maintains grass with zero-turn lawnmowers, weed eaters, blowers, and various hand toolsUtilizes power and hand tools to perform various landscaping activities, such as digging, moving, filling, and leveling the earth, river rock, and other fill material; places sod and grass seed; cleans ditches, culverts, & storm drains; removes / places mulch; pick up trash, leaves, and other debrisPlants, trims, and removes trees, shrubs, and bushes using chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and other power and hand toolsInstalls, maintains, repairs, and replaces signposts, signs, parking blocks, and fencingSpreads salt on icy roads & walkways by hand, manual spreader, and box spreaders, removes snow with shovels, utility vehicles, Polar Tracs, and plow trucksPerforms operator maintenance on all tools and equipment usedCan be placed on-call for after-hours emergency responsePerforms all related duties as assignedand responsibilities as required and assignedReasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

High school diploma or equivalent required; pesticide/herbicide licenses desirable but not requiredAbility to work any time of the day and any day of the week in all weather conditions utilizing appropriate safety precautions and procedures; must be able to lift 50 lbs.; however, accommodation is availableKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have twelve (12) months of recent/relevant Grounds Laborer experienceZero-turn mower operationCommercial snowplow experienceMechanical equipment repair experience is a plusOther Requirements:

Successfully pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background check, & motor vehicle reportMaintain security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigationMaintain a valid State of Michigan driver's license and remain insurable to operate Company vehiclesAble to effectively read, write, and speak the English language
