The Tax Preparer will work closely with RKL's Tax Managers to assist with the tax preparations of RKL's client base.

Scan, file and organize necessary tax documentation into the firm systemConduct tax interviews with clients to determine the best and most compliant course of actionProvide IRS audit support as neededMentor and support Interns and AssociatesProvide guidance to Tax Interns in the scanning and preparation of tax returnsMaintains accurate time and expense records to ensure proper billing of clientsPeople Management/Relationships

High school degree or GED required, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any related field is a plusEnrolled Agent Licensure (CPA designation is not required)A valid PTIN is requiredPrior public accounting experience is preferredPrevious experience preparing 1040's and other tax formsEssential FunctionsMust be able to remain in a stationary position as neededThe person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and at client offices to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printerAbility to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as neededAbility to lift/carry up to 20 poundsAbility to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as neededAbility to travel to local and non-local clients as needed, overnight travel may be requiredThis job description is subject to change at any time and employee will be given additional responsibilities as assigned
