The Humane Society of Broward County, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is identified nationally as a "Leader in Animal Welfare". We provide shelter, aid and responsible adoptions to animals entrusted to our care, and educate the community about respect and kindness to all animals.
Job Summary:
Provide humane care and treatment for the animals in our facilities; clean and disinfect kennels and catteries according to established standards.
Job Type:
Part-time - 27.5hours/week (5 day/week schedule 7.30am - 1pm). Requires weekend availability.
Compensation:
$13.50/hr
Work Environment:
Requires handling of small and large domesticated animals.
Responsibilities:
Cleans and disinfects assigned areas such as kennels, catteries, etc.Feeds and waters the animals as prescribed based on age and sizeVisually inspects animals for overall health problems and follow-up if necessary.Observes behavioral changes that could indicate illness or injury.Assists with animal rescues, transports and provides support in the setup of off-site adoptions as needed.Ideal candidate
will have strong time management skills, attention to detail, affection for animals and concern for their welfare.
