Huntsville, ALJob Description:Torch is seeking a UAS Payload Systems Engineer to support the PM UAS Business Management Division (BMD) Product Office. The Payload Systems Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in the evaluation and integration of a variety of payload subsystems (EO/IR, Radar, Electronic Warfare, LiDAR, weapons, etc.) into uncrewed aircraft systems. Responsibilities include:Providing Subject Matter Expertise on the performance and capabilities of payload systems.Technical and programmatic coordination with external offices executing Payload Programs of Record.Evaluating and resolving payload issues with fielded systems.Supporting specification, qualification, and airworthiness determination of integrated payload subsystems.Communicating effectively with UAS personnel and stakeholders.Evaluating cost, schedule, and performance of non-recurring engineering projects.Preparing and delivering reports and briefings to senior management.Responsibilities:Provide technical and programmatic support across multiple teams within UAS.Perform System Test & Qualification Engineering activities on UAS programs.Assist in preparing contract requirement packages and programmatic documentation.Develop and implement innovative solutions and methodologies.Contribute to the creation of integrated master schedules and technical documentation.Interface with internal and external personnel regarding UAS products.Assist in coordinating stakeholder working groups for emerging UAS requirements.Conduct critical path and risk analyses on integrated master schedules.Provide aviation, operational, and technical expertise to meetings and working groups.Manage dynamic calendars and ensure management officials are aware of product activities.Review documentation for clarity and format.Provide recommendations for test requirements and acceptance criteria.Job Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.Minimum of 5 years of experience in the functional responsibility area.Product Level Management Experience under an ACAT I or II program preferred.Experience in the development, testing, fielding/training phases of system’s life cycle.Thorough knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and business practices.Excellent written and oral communication skills.U.S. Citizenship is required.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance.Job Type:
