Position Summary:
The Registrar's Office Generalist will provide academic information and maintain student academic records to meet student needs toward degree completion.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as the first point of contact for academic information to the campus community.Provide excellent, accurate, timely, professional, and friendly service to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external customers in handling academic information and records by providing information, problem resolution, and follow up service.Verse in basic information in such areas as admission, financial aid, financial services, and student life and assist individuals to departement specialists as needed.Work closely with registrar, deans, and advisors to track and record academic progress of students through degree conferralWork closely with prospective graduates for degree conferral (i.e., degree requirements, graduation status, graduation fee, Commencement partication, straggler time limit follow up, etc.).Process transfer work for applicants and current students.Review checksheets at key times of the year (i.e., registration, final grades, graduation, etc.) to ensure each prospective graduate is on track to complete degree requirements.Assist with processing academic records (i.e., course withdraws, student withdrawals, transcripts, transfer work, archiving, checksheet adjustements, etc.).Assist with class scheduling, registration, and calendar (i.e., academic, calendar of events).Provide additional student service assistance by completing tasks as needed and assigned by the Registrar (i.e., ID cards, diploma ordering, notary services, etc.).Coordinate facilities scheduling for campus events through the Vice Provost office, Events Management, and First-year Experience to assist with academic meetings/activities, campus visits for prospective student and recruitment efforts (i.e., BJU Up Close, Summer Orientation, High School Festival, Welcome Week, etc.).REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Enjoys working with people-cooperatively and collaborativelyPossesses great customer service skills; customer service experience in a college setting preferred.Open to and willing to embrace multi-tasking.Is a problem solver; able to follow through in fully solving student questions/needsOpen to a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the student.Possesses basic office skills: computer literate, email and phone experienceBachelor's degreeOne to two years related experience
