Flight Test Engineer

Salary Range: $87, 000 - $120,500
Flight Test Engineer for the F/A-18 and EA-18G Avionics Mission Systems/ Communication Navigation Information (AVMS/CNI) Team.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare flight cards for aircraft testing during the development and V & V phases.
Prepare and present flight briefings.
Prepare and communicate flight test objectives.
Develop flight test profiles.
For test flight profile changes, develop addendum for the FTP and obtain AWL CTP approval.
Provide Flight Test Scheduling and reporting of the actual count of ordnance expended during testing.
Provide advice and expertise regarding mishap risk mitigation due to test resource limitations.
Ensure the hazard tracking system is updated based on test results.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance for the duration of employment.
Training for future Flight Test Engineers will be provided by on-site Flight Test Engineers.
Must have experience with requirements traceability.
Must have experience dealing with safety issues.
Must have experience with aircraft configuration.
Must have experience with external configuration.
Must have experience with flight Test profiles.
Desired Skills:
Experience with F/A-18 and EA-18G Avionics Mission Systems, and Communication, Navigation, Information Systems a plus.
