Summary of Responsibilities: The dish room attendant is responsible for cleaning, and sanitizing dishes, cookware, utensils, and other kitchen tools utilizing a commercial dishwasher and cleaning equipment. This position also performs routine and deep cleaning tasks to maintain kitchen cleanliness in compliance with food sanitation standards. Primary Responsibilities and Objectives: Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment/utensils, pots, and/or pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand Restock all clean dishes and equipment once they are sanitized Retrieve used food trays and carts from hotel areas throughout the shift as scheduled Complete all assigned opening/closing procedures, and checklists Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition Perform routine cleaning of kitchen floors, mats, walls, cooking equipment, carts, ceilings, and any other kitchen or food service equipment as assigned. Maintain clean work areas, including work surfaces, floors, walls, and equipment in compliance with food sanitation standards Use various chemicals to clean and or sanitize the kitchen facility including deep cleaning of equipment, floor mats, dishwashing machine, floors, carts, refrigerators, and counters Clean garbage can with water or steam Sort and remove waste and recycling, placing it in designated pickup areas Sweep and scrub floors Provide support to other areas of food services as directed by the manager Provide and maintain a safe environment for all associates and guests Conduct all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures Perform other duties as assigned Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred At least one year in hospitality or food preparation preferred Skills and Requirements: Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment required to perform the job safely Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population and professionally represent Avenue5 Ability to multi-task and work independently Strong teamwork and collaborative skills Ability to work in a stressful fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Basic to intermediate ability and experience in computer applications, electronic email, and MS Office applications Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment Scheduling: Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays May be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demand Environment: Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions Physical Requirements: Avenue5 will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
