Position Overview:
Navistar is seeking a
Lead Controls/Manufacturing Test Engineer
to join our team at our Powertrain Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL!The Lead Controls/Manufacturing Test Engineer will be an integral part of the planning, development, and implementation of test equipment and processes to support the launch of a new powertrain platform.Responsibilities:Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in assembly layouts, equipment purchase, qualification, and installationAct and represent Navistar in a global production teamBe the voice of production to product developmentPerform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, test sequence, test methods and production equipment investmentsStandardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other manufacturing facilitiesCoordinate pre-series build verifications and production launch of the new product including establishing goals, training team member, and evaluate and act on resultsAssist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectivesMinimum Requirements:
Bachelors degreeAt least 5 years of product manufacturing experienceORMasters degreeAt least 3 years of product manufacturing experienceORAt least 7 years of product manufacturing experienceAdditional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Proficient with component testing and verificationProficient with dyno test equipmentProficient with developing test strategiesProficient with leak testingProficient with developing test programsCompetence with maintaining and follow up project budgetsCompetence with developing and maintaining project timelinesCompetence with Microsoft Office productsExperience with launching new productsExperience with electric torque controlled fastening toolsExperience with CAD and 3D modeling tools preferred Siemens NXExperience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)Experience with presenting resolutions to quality issuesExperience with Robotic Assembly systemsAbility, and willingness to lead and guide other professionals or colleaguesAbility, and willingness to learn from others
