ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are seeking a Senior Specialist Engineer to join our Developer Experience team. You will lead the design of a cohesive developer platform, unifying and refining CI/CD pipelines and workflows for C# and .NET applications. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, integrating monitoring and logging solutions, and driving developer productivity through innovative tools and automation. Strong scripting skills, proficiency in source control management, and a collaborative mindset are essential. Join us to drive innovation and streamline our development workflows at a senior level.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Create a vision for the Waystar developer experience platform including but not limited to designing, implementing, optimizing, and unifying CI/CD pipelines and workflows across the organizationDevelop a migration plan to move all teams to GHAOversee Git repositories, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews to ensure efficient version control.Lead the team through the execution of the vision and migration plan for the Developer Experience platformWrite and maintain scripts in languages such as Powershell, Python, Bash, or Groovy to automate routine tasks and improve pipeline efficiencyContribute to and maintain our in-house deployment tool ZSADResponsible for developing and augmenting applications based on functional and technical specifications, with a heavy emphasis on C# and .NET application developmentDevelop and maintain tools and utilities to support CI/CD processes for our development teams.Integrate third-party tools and services to extend the capabilities of existing pipelinesSet up and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (e.g., ELK Stack, Splunk) to ensure pipeline health and performance.Adheres to Waystar coding standards and the approved technologies, proposing amendments to either when necessaryAttends to any work items assigned through the internal case system in a timely fashionTakes ownership of work items assigned, communicates estimates and daily progress as part of the SDLC process, and actively works to resolve issues blocking progressProvides estimates for project tasks using an internal project tool, and updates the estimates if they increase or decreaseSolves complex technical problems with little oversightParticipate in on-call rotations and incident response activities, leading post-incident reviews and implementing corrective actions.WHAT YOU'LL NEED
6+ years of software development experience, with a heavy emphasis on C# and .NET6+ years of experience analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systemsStrong background in DevOps, with a specific focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing CIProficient in one or more scripting language: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, or equivalent.Solid foundation of container and orchestration systems including Docker/OCI runtimes, Kubernetes and Helm.Strong understanding and practical application of GitOps and other DevOps methodologiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a very fast-paced environment & welcome changeHighly self-motivatedAbility to work both in team and solo environmentsExperience building highly scalable software solutionsPreferred Skills:
Strong understanding of CICD pipelinesExperience with developing applications in C#, .NET, .NET Core, Java and PHPExperience with Azure DevOps Server OnPremExperience with GitHub Enterprise and CloudExperience with CI/CD tools Jenkins, GitLab CI, Octopus, BitBucketExperience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, JSM)Monitoring and APM tooling experience (Splunk, New Relic, DataDog, Grafana)N-Tier and SaaS development experience is preferredABOUT WAYSTAR
