The reaction product needs to be unparalleled driving pleasure - our vehicles' hallmark.DescriptionDrives the launches and changes of electrical and electronic hardware/software systems at Plant Spartanburg.Ensures the successful introduction of technical content through internal product communication, supporting validation activities, integration of E/E content into the series production environment, and the management and quality assurance of changes to the bill of material (BOM).Steers and directs activities to achieve department, plant and project goals and targets.Collaborates actively with all levels of associates and management in each relevant department to achieve targets.Utilizes quality management system tools to develop processes, procedures and practices which support the resolution of complex or unusual problems.Demonstrates and implements a solution-oriented approach to problem solving.Locates and identifies gaps in internal processes and develops solutions to close gaps.Provides regular updates of all open issues/status to supervisor/project leader to ensure all activities are completed on time and within the target framework.Maintains and ensures compliance with the Plant Management System through appropriate training and awareness.Commits to continuous improvement and support of departmental systems and processes.Manages and plans the implementation of software or E/E hardware for current and new derivatives.Processes and evaluates engineering change content within assigned area for relevance, impact, accuracy, and completeness. Initiates subsequent corrective measures.Steers project teams including global process partners, to determine the impact of the change and the earliest possible implementation date using appropriate systems, change management tools (i.e., SWL cockpit, LTERM) and plant forums.Manages timely completion of NSG (non-series) car/components/line trial validation activities and integration of the change into series production.Guides, trains, and supports process partners on engineering release issues/questions and Change Management systems and processes.Conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective measures and innovative improvements to the systems/processes within the department.Ensures successful validation and on-time delivery to customer through accurate planning and steering of validation cars/components.Provides 24/7 on-call support for production critical issues.Acts as an interface partner for E/E process planning for the assigned production areas.Coordinates with functional specialists and process integrators in the integration of new derivatives/model year measures.Manages timely integration of the agreed product content within the agreed costs and quality objectives.Organizes and steers cross-functional teams by ensuring efficient communication within the team regarding content and ensuring that timelines are transparent and achieved.Creates and communicates project status regarding content, milestones, and achievement of goals/targets.Drives and coordinates integration activities with cross-functional teams.Develops supply chain milestones and coordinates and steers the implementation of milestones.Ensures correct parts or software for build and validation activities are delivered in the correct quantity, at the correct time, to the correct place (including all parts whether directly sourced, sequenced, or created in-house).Acts as a first escalation level for parts integration issues and utilizes available escalation paths to ensure support and action when required.Supports the problem-solving process of process-relevant errors within the framework of problem management and other locations.Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.Performs other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsBS degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical preferred)ORAS degree in a related field AND 2 years of relevant professional experience in automotive/vehicle electrical systems analysis and testing.OR4 years of relevant professional experience in automotive/vehicle electrical systems analysis and testing.Additional qualifications include:5+ years of professional experience in automotive/vehicle electrical systems analysis and testing.5+ years business or technical experience.3+ years of project management or team leadership experience.HV2 training (preferred).5+ years of MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access).5+ years of planning/organizational skills.5+ years of documentation, report writing and presentation development skills.5+ years of ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and specifications.5+ years of German language skills (preferred).5+ years of knowledge of E/E specific knowledge (preferred).5+ years of knowledge of BMW Group Systems such as SWL, TAIS, LTERM, SAP Logistics / Procurement (preferred).5+ years of interpersonal/communication skills.5+ years of demonstrated ability to manage complex systems and problem solving.5+ years of demonstrating innovative thinking and ability to drive change.3+ years knowledge of overall department and company mission (preferred).3+ years knowledge of BMW ItO Launch Processes (preferred).3+ years of ability to develop processes with internal & external organizations associated to department targets.BMW Manufacturing Company is an equal opportunity employer.
