Position Overview
We are looking for a Security Systems Project Manager who will be embedded on ByteDance’s AMS Physical Security Systems team.
The Security Systems Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the team with build-ups, renovation projects, and special security initiatives. The Security Systems Project Manager will lead the deployment of security technologies including access control systems, video management systems, intercoms, alarms, etc. across their assigned region. They will be responsible for creating project plans, scheduling and driving meetings, and following up on action items with cross-functional partners to close out projects. Additionally, they will manage the testing and commissioning of systems and maintain project documents including drawings, warranties, designs, etc. with the primary goal of delivering projects on time and within budget.
This is a full-time position with a hybrid work schedule out of ByteDance’s Austin office. This position has competitive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with 3.5% match, generous PTO, $100/month technology stipend, etc.
Essential Job Functions
Lead project management, scheduling, structure, and analysis by overseeing all aspects of the security systems build out.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Facilities, Health & Safety, IT, Physical Security) to understand security needs and assist in designing security systems.
Consistently drive partner and vendor project progress.
Review and configure Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems, and Video Surveillance based on programming sheets.
Ensure compliance with ByteDance’s security standards during the project lifecycle, from planning to execution.
Conduct project acceptance testing, and assist IT teams with Lenel OnGuard information sharing.
Manage changes in design and requirements during project implementation.
Review and maintain project documentation related to security systems.
Assist in developing standards and guidelines documentation for future reference.
Required Skills and Experience
2+ years of experience as a systems project manager leading enterprise-wide deployments.
2+ years of experience in configuring and managing Access Control Systems.
Familiarity with ACS/CCTV design.
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices and on-site security operations.
Strong communication and coordination skills, especially with diverse teams.
Ability to travel (20-30%).
Preferred certifications:
Lenel OnGuard (Advanced Access or higher)
Avigilon Certified
Key Areas of Focus:
Design: Work with the Facilities team to ensure security system designs meet PSEC standards. Review and provide feedback on security system requirements.
Communication: Maintain open communication channels with the Facilities team, IT project team, local operations, and security vendors to ensure project delivery adheres to PSEC standards.
Coordination: Coordinate with various departments to implement and maintain security systems as per the agreed PSEC standards throughout the RFP, project implementation, and maintenance phases.
Project Acceptance: Perform system acceptance testing upon project completion and prepare detailed reports documenting the system's adherence to specifications.
Salary:
$100,000 - $140,000 a year
