We recently established an in-house legal department and are building a team of lawyers to guide the company in navigating a wide variety of legal issues and risks.

If so, this position might be for you.TP-Link is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Product Counsel specializing in sales & marketing, product regulations, and commercial transactions, reporting to the General Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing legal support for product development, commercial transactions, and contract negotiations within the technology sector. This role will involve close collaboration with product, development, and sales teams to ensure that the company’s products and sales activities comply with applicable laws and regulations while supporting the company’s business objectives.RequirementsKey Responsibilities:

Commercial Transactions:Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, partner, and vendor agreements.Ensure that all commercial agreements align with the company’s strategic goals and comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.Advise on potential risks and liabilities related to commercial transactions and product offerings.Implement contract management processes and templates to improve efficiency and compliance across the organization.Product Regulatory:Advise the company on compliance with U.S. federal, state, and international regulations affecting the company’s products and commercial activities (e.g., ISO/IEC, FCC, import/export).Manage and execute global copyright and trademark strategy.Work closely with the compliance team to ensure that commercial practices align with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.Product Counseling:Monitor and provide advice on the company’s online Product Forum.Manage the company’s anti-counterfeiting efforts.Advise product, engineering, and sales teams on legal issues related to product development, launch, and lifecycle management.Advise the R&D and product groups on legal issues related to open-source.Review and provide guidance on product features, terms of service, privacy policies, and other customer-facing documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and best practices.Collaborate with the product teams to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with new and existing products.Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Member in good standing of the California state bar, either as a licensed attorney or California Registered In-House Counsel.8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on commercial transactions, sales & marketing, and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO/IEC, FCC, import/export) for technology products.Significant experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including technology-related contracts.Previous in-house experience at a technology company is highly preferred.Experience with global copyright and trademark law is a plus.Deep understanding of legal issues related to product development, including intellectual property, data privacy, and open source.Strong knowledge of commercial law and contract principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a business context.Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes in commercial transactions.Ability to think strategically and provide pragmatic legal advice that balances legal risks with business objectives.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the organization.An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to orient and navigate in an unstructured environment.High level of integrity and ethical judgment, with a commitment to upholding the company’s values and legal responsibilities.Willingness to be flexible and learn new skills.A true team player with a demonstrated record of mentoring and supporting others.Benefits·
