Description
The Vice President of Production will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all production and manufacturing activities. This role involves setting the production strategy, managing production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning: Develop and implement production strategies that align with company goals and objectives. Set and monitor production targets and performance metrics.
Operational Management: Oversee daily production operations, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and enhance quality and productivity.
Resource Allocation: Manage production resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost control and efficient use of resources.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that production output meets or exceeds quality standards. Implement and monitor quality control processes and address any quality issues promptly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for production goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in production management, with a proven track record in leading large-scale manufacturing or production operations.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in leading and developing teams at all levels.
Operational Expertise: In-depth knowledge of production processes, supply chain management, and quality control.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Budget Management: Experience in managing production budgets and controlling costs.
Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:Education: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in production management, with significant experience in the aerospace or high-tech industries.
Advanced Skills: Expertise in advanced manufacturing techniques, process optimization, and technology integration.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in production or operations management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP) are highly desirable.
Industry Experience: Experience in aerospace or space technology sectors, particularly with complex, high-precision production environments.
Change Management: Proven ability to lead organizational change and manage complex production projects.
