Job OverviewThe FMLA/ADA Leave Program Specialist administers employee leave policies and programs in compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other relevant state and federal regulations. This role involves ensuring employees are provided with proper leave accommodations while balancing organizational needs. The specialist acts as the primary contact for leave management, handling case documentation, communication with employees, and compliance-related tasks.Work Model: Hybrid

ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Job Functions:Administer Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other related leave programs.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing employee leave, including record-keeping, timelines, and communication requirements.Process FMLA and ADA leave requests, certifications, recertifications, and track leave usage.Coordinate with medical professionals, HR, and legal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave documentation.Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) as they relate to employee leave programs, accommodations, and other HR policies.Maintain accurate leave records and update internal systems to reflect employee leave status.Serve as the primary point of contact for employees seeking information or assistance related to FMLA, ADA, and other leaves of absence.Provide guidance to employees and managers on leave eligibility, rights, and obligations.Communicate leave-related decisions, status updates, and next steps to employees and managers.Engage in the interactive process with employees to identify reasonable accommodations under the ADA.Collaborate with employees, managers, and HR to assess accommodation requests and implement approved accommodations.Track and monitor the status of ADA accommodations, ensuring compliance and effective implementation.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and relevant state and local leave laws.Monitor and stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations impacting leave programs.Prepare and submit required reports, including leave usage data, trends, and compliance metrics.Preserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.Provide training and support to managers and employees regarding leave policies, processes, and best practices.Develop educational materials and resources for employees to understand their rights and responsibilities under FMLA, ADA, and related leave laws.Resolve complex leave-related issues by working with legal, HR, and management to ensure fair and compliant outcomes.Mediate disputes or misunderstandings related to leave or accommodations.

Job RequirementsMandatory:High school diploma or equivalent.Five years of Human Resources experience demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of HR processes and procedures, including three years focused on administering leave programs (FMLA/ADA) for a multi-state employer.Experience with leave management systems and HRIS software.Experience working with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).Advanced skills in spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills; primarily MS Office Suite.Reasonable Accommodation: CGS will provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
