Our client, a $4.5B member of the S&P 500, is seeking a VP of Operations Finance to partner with the COO in driving the financial performance of their two, major business lines. Sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with the COO, the role will manage the operating budget and connect finance with other parts of the business, driving strategic decision-marking and ensuring financial insights are used effectively.Act as a trusted advisor to the COO and senior management, translating financial insights into strategic actions.Drive cost control initiatives and identify areas for operational efficiency improvements.Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization to align financial and operational goals.Lead efforts to optimize resource allocation, ensuring business lines operate within their financial limits while achieving growth objectives.Work closely with the COO and other department heads to understand their financial needs and challenges, providing guidance on financial impacts and opportunities.Support cost-benefit analyses and recommend strategies to reduce costs without compromising business performance.Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support business line strategies and objectives.Analyze financial data and trends, providing insights and recommendations to optimize business performance.Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.Identify areas of financial underperformance and propose corrective actions.Support long-term strategic planning by providing data-driven insights into market trends, financial performance, and competitive analysis.Support the implementation of financial systems and tools that enhance decision-making across departments.Required Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related fieldMBA or Master's degree preferred, but not required15+ years of relevant experience in finance, with a significant portion of that spent in a business partnership or FP&A capacityProven experience in supporting strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and analysis to non-finance stakeholdersStrong experience in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and financial forecastingDemonstrated ability to use financial data to influence business decisions and drive performance initiativesExperience in aligning financial goals with broader business strategies and identifying financial risks and opportunitiesPrior involvement in driving cost-saving initiatives, process improvements, or operational efficiency programs
