Teresa Preston is PDK International’s Director of Publications and Editor-in-Chief of
Phi Delta Kappan . Before coming to PDK International in 2018 as Managing Editor of
Kappan , Teresa served as an editor at numerous professional associations, including as a Managing Editor at the Association for Talent Development and the National Association for Music Education and as an Associate Editor for ASCD’s
Educational Leadership
magazine. She’s also served as a reporter covering education at the
Salem Times-Register , a weekly community newspaper in Salem, Virginia. Before beginning her career in publishing, Teresa spent two years as a high school English teacher, which cemented her conviction that teaching is a tremendously difficult job and that educators at all levels deserve our respect and support.A lifelong Virginia resident, Teresa is a graduate of William & Mary in Williamsburg and currently resides in Alexandria.
