How you will make an impact:
The Biotech, Pharma, & Applied (BP&A) segment within Corporate Accounts is comprised of 700+ strategic relationships across the total company. Our finance team is primarily located in Pittsburgh, but our commercial partners are spread throughout North America and Europe.
Our Corporate Accounts Finance function provides oversight and supports our fast-paced, innovative and global commercial organization. The work of this team is dynamic with high-visibility and impact to our diverse customers, providing you an exciting opportunity to gain valuable regional and global experiences and professional growth.
The Sr. Finance Manager will be responsible for the finance relationships for the strategic market and support senior leaders in data analytics, financial reporting and forecasting processes to help shape the commercial success of the business. This role will lead activities such as long-term strategic planning, annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and the monthly close process. Demonstrating historical analytics, forecasting and reporting skills, you will help steer our commercial focus areas to accelerate share gain and achieve strong commercial results. This role is well suited for an individual with a strong passion to collaborate, build connections and make an impact within a fast paced, innovative global commercial finance function!
What you will do:
Lead and mentor a team of three dedicated finance professionals providing support to the BP&A segment.
Develop corporate-wide proposals and incentives structured to gain customer share of wallet. Review proposals with cross-divisional commercial and finance leadership to ensure support of the program. Measure progress against the incentive programs and communicate results to the Divisions.
Actively participate in key business decisions and contract reviews including customer and executive presentations
Lead market strategy analysis and participate in strategic decision making
Collaborate with business leadership to share insights and drive improved outcomes, partnering with functional teams as the need arises
Use visualization tools such as a PowerBI to undertake ad-hoc analysis to support management decision
Employ creative thinking to tackle customer challenges and meet business objectives. Support commercial partners with trade off analysis, opportunity assessment and business context
Accept change and apply a continuous process improvement mentality: consider new ways to analyze business data and results
How you will get here:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a Finance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, field
Experience
7+ years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Prior experience supporting commercial organizations or FP&A background preferred
Strong financial acuity, including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis
Sophisticated analytical capabilities with proven financial modeling skills using MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Oracle
Organized multitasker: you prioritize your workload, in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong team building skills working with a diverse group of people, even if geographically dispersed
Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate analysis and recommendations in concise, informative manner
Able to deliver high quality effective presentation to communicate complex topics
Excellent skills with MS Excel are required; PowerBI and Cognos are a plus.
Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done
Continuous Improvement: Identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI)
