Director, TSC Online , you’ll be responsible for the general academic and administrative functions of distance learning.Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:ADMINISTRATIVE:Developing and maintaining high-quality online education and services to best serve the needs of local and distant online students and faculty.Providing transformational leadership for online learning and services to ensure alignment with the overall mission and goals of TSC, at the same time fostering innovation.Leading and administering the Center for TSC Online.Serving as a member of the Academic Affairs Team.Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.Supervising staff, including prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff members are trained; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.Administering budgets; preparing cost estimates for budget recommendations; submitting justifications for budget items; monitoring and controlling expenditures; and identifying and pursuing alternative funding sources.Collaborating on activities and operations across multiple academic departments or programs.Acting as a liaison between assigned academic departments or programs, external agencies, and the College.Collaborating with the Teaching and Learning Academy to provide training to faculty and staff.Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.Providing information and resources to academic leadership regarding current trends in distance learning.Championing Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) in online learning.Preparing and delivering reports on the online learning department's activities and achievements.STRATEGIC PLANNING AND ASSESSMENT:Developing effective data use and analysis to evaluate and improve TSC Online outcomes.Evaluating the effectiveness of online educational programs and courses and making recommendations for improvements.Coordinating strategic planning and evaluation of online student services.Who We’re Looking For:We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:A Master’s Degree in a related field (Information Technology, Instructional Design, Distance Education, Higher Education) and experience in higher education from an accredited college or university.A minimum of two years of related work experience with an online or campus entity, and a minimum of two years of experience teaching in a distance-learning environment.SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:Assessment skills using data to assess student engagement and track the effectiveness of RSI initiatives.Instructional Design expertise, understanding adult learning theory and principles of effective online course design.Leadership skills to develop a strategic vision for the online learning department.Experience in managing projects, resources, and budgets effectively.Excellent communication skills to build relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators.Working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant online learning technologies.A deep understanding of federal RSI mandates and their purpose in fostering student success.A passion for creating engaging and interactive online learning environments.Awareness of emerging trends and technologies in online learning.Understanding of faculty needs and challenges in transitioning to online teaching.Bonus Points if you have:Experience in online learning, ideally in a higher education setting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent time management and organizational skills.What We OfferWe offer more than just a competitive salary.
