Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Hardware Expertise:
Maintain an up to date understanding of silicon selection and hardware technologies (panels, components, key part selections) available to gamers.Gaming Ecosystem Expertise:
Maintain an up to date understanding of major gaming release content timelines, track and understand successful launches, and correlate content trends to hardware development and hardware impact.Gaming Platform and Software Expertise:
Maintain an up to date understanding of gaming across various platforms between console, PC, or other emerging form factors on their respective operating systems, platforms.Product Development Guidance:
Contribute as the subject matter expert for the product development and planning timelines, understanding where performance levels in hardware roadmaps meet gaming ecosystem expectations in that timeframe or scope, providing guidance on new hardware feasibility and older platform obsolescence.Performance Testing:
Test and validate gaming performance-to-hardware expectations, from development, to hardware selection, to platforms validation, to debugging performance vs. benchmark expectations.Optimization Insight:
Provide insight to better optimize game and hardware experiences from end-to-end, launching a game to software platform to hardware performance and hardware controls throughout the development process.Collaboration:
Report, respond, and consolidate understandings as a subject matter expert of gaming and hardware into various product form factors and business models, collaborating with a variety of teams (Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Product Development, Project and Program Development, Executive Management).Spec Guidance:
Assist in the final selection and setting of spec guidance for hardware experiences optimized for a given gaming expectation or experience.International Collaboration:
Collaboratively work with overseas teams in various regions for engineering and product development.Other Duties:
Perform other related job duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
5+ years of gaming PC, console, hardware, accessories and/or gaming esports and gaming industry related occupation or expertise knowledge, demonstrating superior understanding of the gaming ecosystem as it pertains to being a subject matter expert in gaming and high performance hardware.Proficient understanding of business models, product proposals, and engineering documentation, presenting analysis using Office (Power Point, Excel, etc.).Knowledge and Skills:
Able to manage priorities and workflow.Exercise good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.Able to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.Ability to understand and respond to a diverse population.Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.Able to work confidently in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and results-oriented corporate environment where a high degree of flexibility is required.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.Working Conditions:
Office: Typically works in an office environment.Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time.Travel: Up to 20% Domestic travel.$80,000 - $110,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
