Job SummaryThis person would be responsible for developing monoclonal and/or polyclonal antibodies in BioLegend derived from immunized animals by performing antigen preparation, host immunization, bleed analysis, cell fusion, and small-scale antibody purification. Techniques involved in this job include antigen formulation, animal immunization and tissue harvesting, cell culture, cell fusion, and antibody analysis using ELISA, WB, and other related techniques.He or She will need to perform project coordination and lead communications with other functional teams across the BioLegend assigned by the manager. In addition, troubleshooting and inventory work will be expected to support the team.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Tissue Culture FunctionPerform cell culture activities including thawing, maintenance, freezing with sterile techniquePerform hybridoma fusionPerform ELISA, WB, and flow cytometry analysisWork across the teams to support changing prioritiesMaintain lab suppliesEnforce lab safety and GLPImmunization FunctionPerform antigen formulation and rodent immunizationRodent bleeding and serum collectionPurification FunctionConduct purification of antibodiesUpdate databases as neededWork across the teams to support changing prioritiesMaintain lab suppliesEnforce lab safety and GLPLeadership FunctionTechnical lead to support Jr. lab membersProject coordination assigned by the managerOther projects or responsibilities as may be required.Minimum Qualifications – Education and ExperienceB.S. with generally more than 8 years of relevant working experience ORM.S. with generally 6 years of relevant working experience in antibody development.3+ years of rodent handling, injection, and serum collection experience3+ years of mammalian cell culture and cell line maintenancePreferred Qualifications – Education and ExperienceExperience with hybridoma cultureBasic knowledge of immunology including but not limited to antibody and antigen interactionAntibody purificationPrior experience of antibody development, ELISA, and WBWork well in a team environmentWork Environment & Physical DemandsLabWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer.
