Antharis Therapeutics, Inc., San Diego, California, United States, 92189
We are currently offering a fantastic career opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced antibody discovery/development scientist to join Antharis Therapeutics, a pre-clinical company based in San Diego. The company is committed to discovering and developing novel immunotherapeutics (monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates) for an array of disease states. The approaches for antibody discovery, including hybridoma technology, aim to streamline the development of lead candidates for entering the clinic in an expedited fashion. We are seeking a Scientist I with hands-on experience in antibody discovery using hybridoma technology. Responsibilities will include designing and executing immunization and screening strategies to generate panels of antibodies that target various proteins in the oncology and immune-oncology fields. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of current state-of-the-art antibody generation technologies and be able to apply this to practice at the bench.Essential Job Functions
Design and execute on approaches to immunize mice and perform electrofusions.Design and execute hybridoma cell culture using both liquid and semi-solid media.Design and execute screening protocols using both ELISA and flow cytometry methods.Proactively propose strategies to project teams to generate the target antibodies.Execute on all stages of antibody generation to deliver diverse panels of antibodies meeting the required criteria.Integrate data from multiple sources (binding, epitope, sequences, and protein characterization) to generate a complete data package for antibody characterization.Maintain detailed records of all experiments in ELN and using in-house databases and tracking systems.Direct a group of scientists abroad to facilitate the hybridoma generation workflow.Responsible for delivering both data analysis packages as well as purified antibodies to project teams.Trouble-shoot and optimize protocols and propose creative solutions to improve efficiency to existing processes.Proactively evaluate new technologies, instrumentation, and assays available from the literature or scientific meetings to improve in-house platforms.Implement and routinely run disease-relevant in-vitro and in-vivo tests to probe for antibody therapeutic efficacy.Coordinate and carry-out in-vitro and in-vivo tests to probe asset efficacy in relevant in-vitro and in-vivo disease models.Plan and execute mechanism of action studies on the Company’s asset pipeline.Ensure rapid and high-quality project advancement.Responsible for day-to-day bench operations and leadership over each project inflection point, including: target identification and discussions, developing project plans, carrying out experiments from conception to asset development and testing, and controlling project execution to ensure completion of projects to scope, schedule and budget.Responsible for ensuring that project risks, both technical and managerial, are identified and appropriately addressed, as well as develop risk mitigation plans.Regularly assess and report the status of the projects directly to the CSO and the VP of Research & Development.Drive day-to-day project activities to achieve results including solving technical and other project challenges, managing resource conflicts, breaking down barriers to meet product development deadlines, and company goals and objectives.Position Requirements
Ph.D. and postdoctoral in Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.Demonstrated experience successfully executing antibody generation using hybridoma approaches to identify antibody panels is required.Extensive experience with antibody binding assays and analysis, especially ELISA, biosensor, and multi-color flow cytometry is required.Experience with PCR, molecular cloning, and transfection of mammalian cells.Strong experience in Excel, Graphpad Prism, flow cytometry analysis software is required.Strong focus, motivation, and commitment to hands-on lab work is required.Excellent organization and communication skills.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team-oriented environment.Legally authorized to work in the US.
