The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) function for The Cigna Group is responsible for the development and execution of the enterprise’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategies involving engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to shape and advance the company’s policies, practices and programs.The Director, Business Partner for HR&S and Corporate Functions, is a strategic ally primarily to the Human Resources (HR&S) internal department who will spearhead the integration of DEI principles into the fabric of The Cigna Group. The Director will also serve as a strategic ally to the Finance, Legal & Corporate Affairs, Solutions and Corporate Development functions, spearheading embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion practices into core operations and culture of these corporate functions.This role involves leading a team within the DEI function, enabling business partners and subject matter experts throughout the enterprise, collaborating with senior management, and working closely with all internal functions and business groups to develop, implement, and monitor impactful DEI strategies and aspirational goals that drive meaningful change. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DEI and HR concepts, a proven track record in organizational change, and the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCollaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate DEI principles into talent strategies, business strategies, policies, and practices.Conduct and support DEI reviews and audits with HR for business units and functions to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.Develop and oversee deployment of DEI training programs and focus groups for employees at all levels, including leadership development initiatives.Oversee partnership with HR business partners to enhance recruitment, retention, and promotion processes, ensuring they are equitable and inclusive.Monitor metrics and dashboards to track the effectiveness of DEI initiatives, identify pivots and shifts that become necessary as business and strategies evolve, and report progress of metrics to senior leadership.Stay informed of emerging DEI trends, best practices, and regulatory changes that may impact the organization, and cascade information to team members within DEI function.Spearhead the development and communication of the organization’s DEI narrative internally.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology, or related field strongly preferred. Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CDP, CCDP) preferred.Minimum of 6 years of experience in DEI and/or HR with a proven track record of implementing successful DEI programs.Experience in managing a team of direct reports strongly preferred.Strong understanding of DEI principles, issues, and relevant laws and regulations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals and groups.Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and evaluate the effectiveness of DEI initiatives.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across teams.Demonstrated leadership and influence skills, able to drive change in a complex organization.
