The Department of Political Science has close to 200 students and a diverse faculty with exceptional international experience. The department emphasizes providing an excellent undergraduate education.Job Duties:Set and meet enrollment, retention, and graduation projections.Schedule courses.Supervise faculty and staff.Create and approve departmental goals.Conduct annual faculty evaluations, tenure, and promotion processes.Collaborate with area coordinators for student assistance.Implement changes based on University policies.Interpret department policies to faculty, staff, and students.Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.Conduct departmental meetings.Support external grant funding efforts.Resolve faculty and student issues.Monitor compliance with University policies.Serve on the College of Liberal Arts Management Team.Teach two courses each semester.Maintain an active research agenda.Document departmental activities.Advise the Political Science Association and Pi Sigma Alpha.Determine personnel needs and participate in hiring.Track and analyze student performance data.Promote professional development opportunities.Expand departmental programs.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other CharacteristicsRequired Minimum Qualifications:An earned Ph.D. in Political Science.Achieved the rank of Full Professor or qualifications necessary for the rank.Evidence of successful teaching, research, and service.Evidence of scholarly achievement and a robust research agenda.Other Preferences for Consideration:Strong leadership and communication skills.Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.Experience working with diverse faculty and students.Ability to collaborate across departments and initiatives.Posting Number:
