Summary:The role involves developing and optimizing pipelines and algorithms for analyzing biological data, particularly focusing on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications. This position requires collaboration with internal and external teams to refine algorithms, conduct independent data analysis, and support business and product development teams in exploring new opportunities in software and algorithm development related to RNA-seq NGS applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and refine pipelines and algorithms for biological data analysis, focusing on NGS data.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement analysis algorithms.
Conduct independent data analysis and generate comprehensive reports as per specifications.
Coordinate with project and IT teams to define, validate, and implement data management and analysis tools.
Support business and product development teams in identifying new opportunities in algorithm and software development related to RNA-seq NGS applications.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
PhD in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Biology, Genetics, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in genomic data analysis.
Proven expertise in building, supporting, and using bioinformatics pipelines.
Strong hands-on experience in genomic sequence analysis, NGS analysis, and pathway/network analysis.
Proficiency in statistical analysis of high-throughput biological data, especially RNA-seq.
Programming proficiency in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, R, or Perl.
Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with research scientists, bioinformaticians, software developers, and external collaborators.
Experience with machine learning and data-driven analyses is a plus.
Industry experience related to mRNA preferred.
Basic bioinformatics skills (e.g., cloning design, primer design, local alignments, in silico translation), with gene editing guide RNA design as an advantage.
