Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Category Manager – Electrical Systems to join our Procurement Organization. The Procurement Category Manager will work cross functionally within Navistar interfacing with engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, aftersales, and supply chain. As Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing the category sourcing strategy, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating agreements.
The Category Manager’s key activities include leading strategic sourcing activities, supplier contract negotiations, executing commercial agreements, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and overall supplier performance management.
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute category strategies to align with Navistar’s business objectives• Lead strategic sourcing decisions and supplier selection for new product launches as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities• Analyze category spend to identify and develop savings opportunities using a variety of procurement levers including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, supply chain/footprint optimization, target costing, etc.• Research industry trends, global markets, benchmark data, and understand underlying cost drivers• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best overall total cost of ownership• Execute legal agreements such as Comprehensive Supply Agreements and Development Agreements• Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure product quality, on time delivery, and service meet or exceed expectations.
Minimum Requirements

• Procurement background in managing electronic components and semi-conductors with experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries or manufacturing preferred• Experience developing category strategies, discovering competitive options and leading negotiations• Excellent time management skills – can organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet specific deadlines• Ability to read, understand, and execute commercial agreements and contracts• Ability to understand technical concepts• Skilled at developing executive level presentations• Strong analytical skills• Results driven.
