The Associate Director of Sports Ministry oversees all sports outreach ministry at First Baptist Woodstock. This position will assist in leading and developing volunteers and programming to fulfill the specific mission of helping kids, teenagers, and parents in our community find Jesus. This person has a passion for utilizing sports to see people come to faith in Christ and connecting new believers to the church. This position is full-time.Primary Responsibilities:

In coordination with the Director of Local Outreach, create, develop, implement, and oversee operation of all sports and recreational ministry in a manner that fulfills First Baptist Woodstock’s mission to help people in our community find and follow Jesus.Responsible for the administration, promotion and coordination of sports and recreational outreaches and ministries that take place on and off the FBCW campus.Recruitment and training of all volunteer staff for programs and activities directly related to the Sports Ministry at FBCW, including coaches, referees, scorekeepers, gym supervisors, game day coordinators, and other leadership roles.

Intentionally recruit volunteers who embody and articulate FBCW’s Vision, Mission, and Values.Lead trainings and develop resources that will equip volunteers to provide effective leadership to sports participants.

In coordination with the Director of Local Outreach, develop yearly goals and strategies for growing effectiveness and participation as measured by the Discipleship Growth Track.Provide the highest level of excellence for participants.Collaborate with FBCW’s Discipleship Ministry Team to build a bridge that moves kids, students, and adults down the Discipleship Growth Track at FBCW.Maintain a high standard of sportsmanlike and Christ-like conduct across the Sports Ministry.Assist in developing and maintaining budgets for the Sports Ministry.Market and promote the Sports Ministry opportunities to the community with the help of the Communication’s Team.Coordinate the maintenance and safety of recreational facilities and equipment to help keep a professional environment.Personal Responsibilities & Requirements:

Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity.Must have the ability to relate in a positive manner with participants, volunteers, and staff.Demonstrates understanding and full support of the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of FBCW.Must be an actively involved member of FBCW.Be a team player with other FBCW staff through active participation in meetings and by developing relationships that are mutually supportive.Weekly worship service and group attendance.Actively supports FBCW’s mission and vision by tithing off your income.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Ability to participate in active sports and recreation activities.Able to speak in a public forum.Able to lift at least 50 pounds.To apply for this job, please click
