Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops, aligns and implements commodity strategies.Negotiates and manages the maintenance of commercial agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.Engages with the PLC process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities.Approves/final authority, delivers and manages Supplier Performance Improvement Plans.Drives formal supplier performance reviews.Functional KnowledgeRegarded as the technical expert in their particular field.Detailed understanding of machining/ fabrication with focus on metal machining (AL, SST, red metals)Understanding of both Prototype and HVM (High Volume) Manufacturing with focus on machining efficiency, yield improvementCapable of leading and successfully yielding Cost negotiations with suppliersDemonstrates in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function.Business ExpertiseAnticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends product, process or service improvements.LeadershipLeads projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution.Able to lead and mentor new employees and peers.Problem Solving & CommunicationSolves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.Communicate effectively in Power Point media accompanied with verbal presentations.Self starter, able to transform broad ideas and concepts into actionable plans that yield measurable results.ImpactImpacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general functional policies and industry guidelines.Interpersonal SkillsCommunicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.Able to interface and effectively communicate with both executives and owners of suppliers.Additional RequirementsUS Citizen - able to visit / meet with ITAR restricted suppliers and as required US government.Possess Valid US Drivers license.Able to travel up to 30% of the time, mostly domestic with limited international travel.Qualifications

$140,000.00 - $210,000.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
