This position is responsible for assisting the Site Director in the daily operations of the program that includes planning, development, and implementation of all the before and after school activities under the guidelines of the YMCA School Age Curriculum.Some of the exciting things you will do as a Sr. Group Leader include but are not limited to:Assists in oversight of all program activities, communicating with families and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available.Effectively carries out appropriate lesson plans.Establishes structure and routines for children, setting boundaries and behavior guidelines.Responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including understanding and being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.Attends parent/child events as required.Effectively communicates with parents throughout the program year.Available Shift:Monday-Friday 2:00pm – 6:00pmQualifications:Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have high school diploma or GED. Current CPR and First Aid Certification. Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting. Must have the critical skill of being able to relate to parents, school staff, and children and have a positive, creative attitude.Working Conditions:Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be physically active to play games and sports with the children. Must be able to pick up at least 35 pounds. Must have visual acuity to observe all children.Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
