The Medical Staff Coordinator will facilitate activities from candidate acceptance to the candidate's start date and beyond. The purpose of this position is to ensure a customer friendly, efficient and well integrated on-boarding process. The coordinator will develop a plan to assist and coordinate all requirements related to human resources, licensure, medical staff credentialing, provider enrollment, faculty appointments, research, occupational health and information technology training/access, as well as other provider specific requirements. The coordinator is a critical member of the Medical Staff team for supporting the needs of the candidates selected as the best and brightest pediatric providers and researchers for the Nation's Children's HospitalQualificationsQualifications

Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree (Required)

Minimum Work Experience2 years Experience in human resources, medical staff services, or other related activities (Required)

Functional AccountabilitiesInitial Contact and BeyondDevelop and implement a plan for each new provider that addresses all the specific needs for that individual.Contact new hire, explain role of the medical staff coordinator , review the plan as well as the time requirements for the specific activities.Maintain frequent contact with the provider. Address concerns and issues throughout the process.Facilitation with Outside EntitiesCoordinate licensure activities with the three jurisdictions for licenses, controlled substance certificates and DEA registrations. Provide instruction on completing various applications, and follow-up with the licensing boards.Following receipt of licensure, notify appropriate individuals to submit provider enrollment documents with the various payersAssist with application processes for other hospitals, as needed.Facilitation with Other Hospital DepartmentsDevelop and implement notification procedure for all internal divisions/departmentsCoordinate with HR recruitment, HRIS and Occupational Health as needed.Interface frequently with the provider and credentialing staff in expediting medical staff appointmentCoordinate with research on specific research requirements, as needed. Connect new hire with research liaisonLaunch academic appointment process; provide information for MedHub; coordinate submission of goals (as appropriate)Website, Training, Other OrientationCoordinate with divisions on systems requirements. Plan provider specific training program with both on-line and in-person training.Submit requests for access to systems as need by the provider; confirm that access is in place prior to first day of clinical activityConfirm division specific administrative and clinical orientation is available during initial period of employment.Onboarding Website and Off boardingDevelop and maintain onboarding website on internet and intranetManage off boarding process. Determine requirements, develop checklist, implement the process.
