Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals. Direct and coordinate all cotton warehousing activities.Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing programs, operation and personnel policies and procedures.Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Safeguards warehouse facility, operations, and contents by monitoring fire protection systems and ensuring that the systems are locked open and functioning properly. Also responsible for ensuring that identified personnel is available to answer fire alarms 24/7 throughout the year.Inspects and maintains the physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Issues work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement of equipment.Ensure that the appropriate inventory management policies are practiced. Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with warehouse data management system.Operate lift truck as needed.Active member of the facility SHE Program, allocates sufficient resources to ensure SHE Program is implemented, maintained and effective. Maintains good working knowledge of SHE policies, rules and procedures applicable to facility and ensures all applicable requirements are adhered to. Ensures unsafe working conditions are remedied as soon as practicable.Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the shipping demands and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.Perform all related responsibilities as required.Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses:
Bachelor’s degree or five years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands):Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.Effectively present information and respond to questions pertaining to job.Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Interpret a variety of instructions.Job requirements include standing, walking, sitting, use of hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to reach with hands and arms; climb balance, stoop, kneel crouch and crawl. Also have the ability to speak and hear.Required to regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities are required. These include good close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision. Good depth perception and the ability to focus are necessary.Working Conditions:
Duties are performed in typical warehousing conditions in and outside of buildings. Working frequently near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes and cotton dust.Employee Supervision:
Supervises 2 or more employees.Decision Making/Accountability:
