In the renewable industries, we wield substantial activity and influence, backed by a proven track record and demonstrated expertise across diverse projects and innovations spanning solar, wind, battery storage, geothermal, hydrogen, renewable fuels, and carbon capture. While this massive transition in how we produce energy is underway, we also recognize the need to provide firming power solutions using cleaner gas fired generation. We are dedicated to assisting clients such as independent power producers, municipal electric utilities, and investor-owned utilities in overcoming hurdles and implementing resilient power grid systems tailored for the future. Job Summary of Roles and ResponsibilitiesPOWER Engineers' Generation Business Unit is seeking a Senior Project Manager. The qualified candidate may serve as project manager on a single large project or several smaller projects concurrently. This position requires discretion and independent judgment in the execution of projects. The qualified candidate will be based in one of our offices in Atlanta, GA; Boise, ID; Hailey, ID; Overland Park, KS; Mount Laurel, NJ; or Oradell, NJ.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Proposal and budget development
Managing large budget Generation Projects for multiple disciplines
Responsible for the execution, coordination, schedule, and maintaining integrity of assigned projects, including compliance with contractual requirements, as well as acceptable engineering/design practices and quality control
Responsible for maintaining corporate and generation division quality procedures
Must be able to organize and manage projects to meet or improve the scheduled time frame, budget, and other related goals
Will regularly interact with clients, so must be able to communicate effectively and resolve technical and commercial project issues
The candidate will be responsible for business development, developing proposals, and making presentations
Projects may be domestic or international so some travel may be required
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Minimum of 15 years of related work experience
Experience in the EPC industry with a focus on power plant design work
Ability to lead and manage complex projects
Experience in a diverse range of power plant technologies is valued but not required (such as biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen production and applications, carbon capture, BESS, hydro, wind, solar, gas-fired and/or coal). While subject matter proficiency is beneficial, the capacity to effectively lead and oversee intricate projects is required
Direct industry involvement is preferred
Good understanding of commercial terms and conditions and ability to negotiate the same
Proven ability to estimate, scope, schedule, and budget projects and keep projects on track in all these areas post-award
Commitment to high-quality work and maintaining the professional reputation and client relationships that bring repeat business
Desired Education/Experience
Licensed Engineer
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Excellent communication skills and team player
