Our programs incorporate both active and passive strategies in equities, fixed income, hedge funds, real assets, and private capital.The Commonfund OCIO team seeks to hire an Associate Director to assume investment and analytical responsibilities for a segment of our non-profit client base. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with others on the OCIO, manager research, business development, and operations teams to provide high-quality, timely, and comprehensive information, materials, and responses to our clients. Further, the candidate must possess the ability to present materials in Investment Committee and other client-related meetings in order to convey key information related to a client’s portfolio, facilitate discussion, and aid in decision making. It is a highly visible position and critical to the success of the OCIO business and its growth.This position is based in Wilton, CT.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAct as support for investment officers on OCIO client accountsDevelop presentation materials and present at clients’ quarterly committee meetingsRespond to inquiries and analytical requests from clients in a timely and accurate mannerProvide strong quantitative and analytical skills to support the OCIO teamUndertake portfolio evaluation and analysis of client portfoliosGenerate asset allocation recommendations for current and prospective institutions by using portfolio modeling applicationsFacilitate month-end portfolio reviews, rebalancing of client portfolios, and cash flow analysesAssist with ad-hoc project requests from clients and senior staffContribute to the creation of blog posts and whitepapers through research and industry trends in the investment and endowment management fieldProvide education related to a client portfolio to new Board and Committee members and staff, as well as other groups as neededDevelop an in-depth knowledge of Commonfund’s investment strategies and programs through collaboration with manager research teamsPREFERRED BACKGROUND:
Holds or plans to pursue an MBA, CAIA or CFA designation5-8 years of experience in the investment industry specifically related to directly managing total portfolios and preferably in the OCIO spaceStrong analytical/problem solving skills, including use of spreadsheet/database software for quantitative analysisA strong proficiency with the full Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of capital markets and asset management landscapeDemonstrated ability to complete assignments independently and on a timely basisDesire to work in a team environment with a strong work ethicStrong verbal, written communication, and presentation skillsAbility to handle multiple responsibilitiesStrong independent initiative and proactive problem-solving skillsDesire and willingness to travel up to 15%
