Security Support Specialist - PEO Soldier
Location: Fort Belvoir, VA
Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education
Work as an on-site Security Support Specialist for a DoD client's security and program protection operations team. Support the client in providing security expertise, and hands-on experience within one or more security disciplines including: personnel security; operations security; information security; and security education training and awareness (SETA). Provide support in security clearance processing, visit authorization requests, document control, and security SETA briefings in accordance with the NISPOM, ICD's, and other applicable government security directives as appropriate. Leverage specialized related knowledge to work independently or concurrently in supporting teams to directly solve complex problems. Provide strategic thinking to address issues, and implement security measures for major operational defense programs. Draft, write, and/or edit Security Program related documents, plans, policies, procedures, and charts in support of the Command Security Manager. This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Required Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities:•Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in Intelligence and Security required.•Knowledge of DoD and/or Army Security regulations and manuals.•Familiarity with basic concepts and principles pertaining to: PERSEC, INFOSEC, OPSEC, and SETA.•Ability to prepare well-written products and strong communications skills.•Ability to work well with others, especially in a team format.•Proficient in Microsoft Office.•The position requires the ability to travel up to 20% to support mission requirements.
Desired Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities:•Knowledge of Security Program specific operating principles, tools, and databases.Demonstrate ability to explain and apply information from DoD manuals, and instructions, Army regulations, and the NISPOM.Capable of operating independently and remotely.Ability to articulate ideas and thoughts on paper, and through public speaking.Capable of executing required tasks with little guidance.
