Job Description:
The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Practitioner who is accountable for a "defined" patient population. Functions in the roles of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher within a specialized area of practice. Possesses and exhibits a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in the provision of health care directly to the patient, family or community, or indirectly through guidance of care by other professional personnel. Provision of patient care is conducted and performed utilizing the medical model within the scope of licensure and in accordance with applicable law, regulations, and in accordance with VCH policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs. Upon acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to providing patient care, candidate must submit Scope of Practice and all information for credentialing, to the Medical Staff office, Hospital Interdisciplinary Professional Practice Council.

Services offered at Pelandale Specialty Clinic include, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurotesting, Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology (ENT), Plastic Surgery, Surgery and Urology
Valley Children's Healthcare - one of the largest pediatric healthcare networks in the nation - provides Central California's only high-quality, comprehensive care exclusively for children, from before birth to young adulthood. With more than 670 physicians and 3,500 staff, Valley Children's delivers high-quality, comprehensive care to more than 1.3 million children in our service area. Our network offers highly specialized medical and surgical services to care for children with conditions ranging from common to the highly complex at our 358-bed stand-alone children's hospital that includes 28 regional NICU beds. Our family-centered, pediatric services extend from a leading pediatric cancer and blood disorders center home on the West Coast, and a pediatric heart center known for its expertise and pioneering treatments, to a Regional Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the highest level referral center between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. EXPERIENCE:Minimum three (3) years related experience requiredExperience in pediatrics and/or clinic setting a plusBilingual skills desirableEDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIFICATIONS:
Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program and Master's degree in nursing requiredBLS - Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire or transfer into positionActive California Registered Nurse licensure (RN) requiredActive California Nurse Practitioner license (NP) required - Must successfully complete the credentialing process through the Medical Staff office via CIDP for the appropriate scope of practice, written standardized protocols and furnishing privilegesNP-C - Nurse Practitioner Natl Certification - National certification from an accredited certifying board required within 6 months or hire or transfer into position
