Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented General Manager to join our team at The Trail Hotel. Debuting in early 2025 as a Hotel for Bourbon lovers! This position is responsible for the strategic oversight of operations for the property including sales and marketing, finance, human resources, engineering, property management, and all hotel operations. They will lead the property executive committee to consistently deliver distinctive and memorable service and exceptional operational standards, realizing the objectives of the ownership group. The General Manager will embrace the property's vision and service culture promoting unity and teamwork amongst all departments and cultivate a supportive and productive relationship with internal and external partners.ABOUT THE TRAIL HOTELSet to open in 2025, the Trail Hotel is the world's first and only bourbon-centric hotel. SHG provides a rewarding, fun and flexible work environment, exciting perks, an atmosphere designed to encourage and promote career growth within the company and a robust benefit package including, but not limited to:Free Telemedicine and Virtual Mental Health care access for All Associates starting day one!Multiple Health Insurance and Life Insurance options401k Plan + Company MatchPaid Time OffHoliday PayPet InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramSchulte Savings Marketplace Discounts on event tickets, electronics, gym memberships + more!JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBuildout, hire, and oversee functions including operations, technology, revenue management, e-commerce, property and field marketing, and efficiently staff complimentary overhead service support functions such as finance/accounting and HRCollaborate with Magnolia Brands Team to develop and deliver a management training program approved by Magnolia Brands prior to the Hotel's opening dateServe as on property contact for Magnolia Brands, ensuring operations represent and uphold Magnolia brand standards and extend the values and hospitality culture of Magnolia across Hotel 1928Manage all aspects of the Hotel's pre-opening process, including executing the Hotel's brand vision and marketing strategy, managing operational project development and construction, establishing all operating infrastructure, and hiring staffAchieve ongoing financial / business plan goals for the Hotel; ensure the organization is meeting or exceeding operational, financial, and cultural strategic and fiscal plansGrow top line revenue and identify new revenue streams across the HotelBuild market share through new and innovative methods, including differentiating through training and continuous improvement of service levels and guest experienceConsistently deliver accurate forecasting projections for areas of responsibility and implement effective adjustments as required in staffing and other cost drivers to ensure profit integrity.Lead monthly operations reviews and respond to ad-hoc internal and external requests.Collaborate across AJCP departments, including Asset Management, Design, Development, Strategy, Acquisitions, Legal, and AccountingCollaborate across Magnolia Brands for all brand-relevant touchpoints, including sales, marketing, retail shop coordination, and utilization of Magnolia Brand for the purposes of cross promotion.Effectively represent and tell the story of Hotel 1928 in the local community, regionally and nationallyEnsure the property is operated safely and securely according to property and company standards.Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectivesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE10+ years of management experience in hotel management, particularly luxury/independent hotels.Experience opening and managing an independent hotelPrior Food & Beverage leadership experience preferredExperience establishing new operations and technology and managing through rapid growthBachelor's degree in hospitality, business or related field, with a graduate degree preferredDeep knowledge of hotel industry trends, best practices, rules, and regulationsStrong understanding of finance/financial statements and operationsAbility to analyze, prioritize, and delegate as appropriateKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingDemonstrated ability to lead a teamExcellent attention to detailFinancial savvyProficient in Microsoft Office*The hiring process may consist of a phone interview, manager(s) interview, drug screen, background check, reference checks, and potential employment assessment.
