Under general supervision of the Director of Communications, this position works to support the communication, marketing, and public relations activities for the City of East Point.Major Duties

1. Creating flyers and other graphics for inter office use.2. Creating Flyers and graphics for all city social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook...3. Managing a database of graphic content from all city events and publications.Videography:1. Filming all council related events and activities.2. Creating motion graphics for all video productions.3. Managing a database of video and camera footage as an archive.Other/ Special Projects:1. Create flyer, Banners etc. for all digital media posted to all social media and television platforms.2. Editing digital marketing material from outside vendors.3. Participation in all design related projects. (Wayfinding signage project.)Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, Film, Media Production, or a related field.- 1-3 years of professional experience in graphic design, videography, or a similar creative role.- Portfolio showcasing proficiency in both graphic and video work.Technical Skills:- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).- Experience with video cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.- Knowledge of video editing, color correction, and motion graphics.- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content creation trends.- Basic photography and photo editing skills.Soft Skills:- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.- Excellent communication and time management skills.- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.- Flexibility to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.Additional Requirements:- Familiarity with current design and video production trends.- Ability to lift and transport equipment when necessary.- Willingness to work occasional nights or weekends, depending on project needs.** We prefer candidates with certifications in Adobe, Photoshop, or similar design software, along with experience in fast-paced professional environments.**Knowledge Required by the Position

Supervisory Controls:Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Director of Communications and the Senior Graphic Artist/Videographer.Guidelines:This position follows guidelines that include city ordinances, departmental policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws. These guidelines are well-defined and specific.Complexity:The position consists of technical, administrative and communication related tasks.Scope and Effect:The purpose of this position is to support the delivery of timely, accurate, and comprehensive information about the City's operations and programs, social media coordination, marketing, and communications.Personal Contacts:Contacts are typically with City Administration Officials, co-workers, the public, vendors and media.Purpose of Contacts:Contacts are typically to exchange information, resolve problems and provide services.Physical Demands:The work is typically performed with the employee sitting at a desk with intermittent standing or walking. The employee occasionally lifts objects to complete tasks.Work Environment:The work is typically performed indoors in an office environment.
