Sloomoo Institute is a rapidly growing interactive experience based on play, #satisfying through handmade slime, tapping into the senses, and ASMR. We are an art-inspired, immersive haven of color, design, and joy. Launched in 2019, Sloomoo Institute now has 5 locations and has been an enormous success, attracting over 1 million guests and billions of media impressions. Our fifth location opened in LA, September 2024, and is already exceeding all expectations. With more domestic and international growth on the near horizon, the future is very bright. Even more, slime play is known to support stress relief as much as it does your imagination! Driven by a mission to provide a reprieve from the chaos of the world and screen addiction, the brand has close ties to mental health non-profits and a dedication to inclusion as well as supporting neurodiversity through our experience and our workforce.
Position Summary
The Art Director is a senior creative role responsible for concepting and executing our brand's visual presence across all brand properties - Experiences, Retail, Online, and IP. From collaborative ideation and design development to final execution. This integral member of a close-knit team will contribute big picture ideas, while also exhibiting a 'no job is too small' attitude. They are a strong creative thinker with the executional skill set to match. This is a leader that values organization and has a keen sense for detail. The Art Director works collaboratively with the Head of Marketing and Founder to continuously evolve and refine all aspects of Sloomoo Institute's brand.
Role Responsibilities
Design / Art Direction
Ideate, conceptualize, art direct, design and execute creative marketing initiatives to support overarching brand objectives.Set and execute best-in-class creative/visual direction that aligns with the overarching brand strategy.Identify gaps in current programming and initiatives and offer actionable recommendations.Director to uphold and advance the visual identity of the brand.Remain current on competitor activity and emerging trends in digital advertising, branded entertainment and technology, to bring consistently fresh thinking and "state of the art" innovations.Design and execute a scalable content strategy that supports acquisition and retention objectives.Achieve a level of excellence in all creative work designed and executed, including concepts, art direction, graphic design, creative briefs, on set art direction, and management of production.Work collaboratively cross-functionally to design on-brand, high performing assets and collateral.Oversee the look and feel of the brand across all platforms and initiatives. Focused on the following to start: Digital/Website/E-commerce/Social Media/ Email/Packaging/Visual Merchandising, Paid Media, Experiences and OOH Activations.Lead Creative briefings and brainstorms. Contribute innovative ways to engage with and grow the Sloomooverse.Cross-Functional Collaboration
In collaboration with Social Marketing team, oversee social creative concepts, layouts and design to maximize social engagement, following and brand awareness.In partnership with Head of Marketing; concept and Art Direct relevant shoots.Partners with e-commerce marketing team to optimize website and PDP enhancements to start.Partner with agency partners as needed.Other duties as assigned.Management & Communication
Leads and supervises the creative team in the conceptualization and execution of design direction.Managing design and creator team daily workflows to ensure timely execution of projects.Proven management skills and a talent for providing effective feedback and direction.Mentor and guide the creative team fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.Employ resourceful, creative thinking and an ability to anticipate business needs with the expectation to work 6+ months in advance of site deployment.Prioritize and multi-task various projects and deadlines. Ability to pivot as priorities shift based on business needs.Enjoy great chemistry and a true spirit of collaboration with the brands Head of Marketing and Co-Founder.Key Attributes

Tenure: 10+ years of graphic design and art direction experiences in an agency or marketing environment.Stellar portfolio of creative work, exhibiting a background in 360 brand concept development to execution.Deep knowledge and expertise in all aspects of layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital and experience production, and an understanding of customer touchpoints.Detailed understanding of today's creative landscape and how people engage with content from digital products to environments and experiences.Innate curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture, current and past.Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, adept at communicating and championing creative output and timelines.A multitasker, comfortable working in today's fast-paced environment.Relationships with freelance photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and retouchers a plus.Exceptional Adobe Creative Suite skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, After.Effects, Premiere Pro etc.).Degree in Creative Arts or Graphic Design.
