Donor Engagement & Major Gifts Specialist

The Donor Engagement & Major Gifts Specialist will report to the Development & Fundraising Manager and will play a key role in building partnerships with high-net-worth individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations.

This position is critical to advancing our department and company goals, aligning with the third part of our mission purpose statement. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and bring a strong background in project management, combined with hands-on experience in fundraising or nonprofit development.

General Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations through all stages of the donor cycle, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.Oversee accurate and timely Salesforce data entry, including recording gifts, updating contact information, and tracking donor interactions.Assist in the development and execution of new strategic fundraising campaigns targeting high-net-worth individuals, including the Annual Report and Year-End Campaign.Coordinate donor-related aspects of charitable events, focusing on high-net-worth guest experiences and ensuring the fulfillment of sponsorship benefits, particularly those tied to Giving Tiers.Manage event sponsorship relationships, ensuring sponsor awareness and fulfillment of commitments.Track and report on fundraising results and progress, providing insights and recommendations for strategy adjustments.Contribute to the creation and implementation of strategies and campaigns to grow and engage the donor base, including Moves Management initiatives.Perform other tasks and projects as assigned to support overall fundraising efforts.Work Schedule + Benefits

Full-time, ExemptPay Range is $71,000-$89,000The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pmDepartment needs will call for occasional evenings and weekendsTravel time: It is anticipated that 10% of the work time will be spent onsite at fundraising and Community Engagement events; out of state travel may be requiredExcellent Benefits, to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, FSA's, 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan, Adoption Assistance, Education Reimbursement, Supplemental Health Plans and Pet InsuranceQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is required.3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, direct solicitation, and strategic fund development, with expertise in managing donor portfolios through Moves Management.Proven experience in handling a diverse portfolio of new and existing donors.Strong project management skills, including experience managing projects across multiple teams, with a keen attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.Ability to build and manage relationships with donors, sponsors, and organizational partners.Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues, displaying a strong team orientation, excellent interpersonal skills, and high emotional intelligence to perform effectively under pressure.Commitment to achieving high-quality results, with the capability to work diligently under pressure, balance multiple tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation, thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Proficient in analytical, research, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.Flexibility to assume additional responsibilities as needed.A deep passion for the mission and purpose of our organization, with a commitment to making a meaningful impact.Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, M365, Asana, Outlook, Salesforce/NPSP, and Teams.

ABOUT the Community Engagement department

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation was established in 1995 with the goal of raising funds to assist abused and neglected children in the communities where we live and do business.

In 2016, the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation was established to educate and assist in solutions to eliminate human trafficking as well as focus on those needing treatment, rehabilitation and prevention from drug/alcohol abuse. Our Fundraising Team supports both foundations with small and large scaled fundraising efforts as well as collaborating with Community Impact on volunteer opportunities for our In-N-Out Burger Associates and their families.
