The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs is searching for an independent, responsible, and efficient candidate to fill our Clerical Assistant 2 position at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home located in Erie, PA.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position will provide administrative and clerical support to the Business Manager at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home. Additional responsibilities include operation of the switchboard and serving as the first point of contact for visitors at the facility. You will distribute mail to residents as required and will mail admissions packets as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title);
orGraduation from high school;
orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
