Job Summary

The Principal Technical Accounting Analyst supports all aspects of accounting research and technical accounting analysis under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will also assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statement and external reporting on the Form 10-Qs and 10-Ks.

Key Accountabilities

Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance to determine and document the accounting and financial reporting treatment for new and or complex, unusual transactions or agreements.Review all material revenue contracts under ASC 606 and lease contracts under ASC 842Assist Technical Accounting and External Reporting Manager by facilitating and coordinating external and internal audit requests, external reporting support inputs, and other deliverables for the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statementsCoordination with internal and external auditors on the preparation of audited financial statements and internal controls complianceCoordination and preparation of financial and operational reporting to regulatory agencies such as FERC, MPSC, etc.Research current and emerging accounting issues and implements related accounting policies and proceduresFacilitates and supports identification of process improvements.Creates a positive working environment, including training and developmentMinimum Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMinimum of eight years' experience in accounting and/or auditingCertified Public Accountant certificationOther Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and SEC guidanceExperience with external SEC reporting for a publicly traded companyPreferred:

MBA or Masters in Accountancy is preferredSome public accounting experience is preferredOther Requirements:
